ArcaDuo is a cooperative web-based platformer created for a game jam by a two-person team. Its greatest strength lies in its duo-focused design: two players must coordinate movement and actions together, genuinely fostering teamwork, real-time communication, and shared problem-solving. Navigating platform layouts builds spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination, while the escalating difficulty of arcade-style levels encourages adaptive challenge and learning transfer as players internalize mechanics. The low-stakes, playful context makes it a positive social experience, especially for siblings or friends playing side by side.
Design risks
| R1 | Dopamine pressure | 0.13 | |
| R2 | Monetization | 0.00 | |
| R3 | Social risk | 0.00 | |
Risk is extremely low across all categories. The game has no monetization whatsoever — no ads, microtransactions, loot boxes, or subscriptions — and no dopamine-manipulation mechanics such as streaks, push notifications, or variable reward loops. The only mild concerns are the inherent 'one more try' pull of arcade platformers (infinite play and near-miss tension), and a slight escalating commitment as players progress through levels. There is no stranger interaction, no concerning content, and no social-comparison pressure.
