Swarm is a compact puzzle game from Ludum Dare 46 that asks players to shepherd a swarm of units through increasingly difficult levels. Its core loop provides a genuine cognitive workout: players must read spatial layouts, plan routes, and adapt strategies as obstacles grow more complex. Problem-solving and spatial awareness are the dominant skills exercised — players must simultaneously track multiple swarm members and anticipate hazards, building working-memory and attentional control in a low-pressure context. Escalating level difficulty provides a mild adaptive challenge curve that rewards persistence and iterative thinking. The absence of timers on most puzzles also encourages deliberate, critical analysis over reflexive button-mashing.

| R3 | Social risk | 0.00 | |
As a free, ad-free Ludum Dare jam game, Swarm is virtually free of commercial risk vectors: no microtransactions, no loot boxes, no subscriptions, no ads, and no aggressive monetization of any kind. Dopamine manipulation is minimal — there are no streaks, push notifications, or variable reward schedules. Mild escalating difficulty and the natural desire to 'beat' the next level provide a small but benign pull to continue playing. The game has no social features, no stranger chat, and no content risks (no violence, mature themes, or inappropriate language). The only negligible risk is the generic loop of replaying levels after failure, which carries a very low near-miss effect.
